If you just said – WHAT IS THAT??? You are not alone!
With Halloween right around the corner… and with Covid interrupting it this year… I’ve been thinking a lot about past Halloween seasons and ways Halloween 2020 can be saved. During my daydreaming, a funny incident came to mind:
THE NIGHT WE DISCOVERED “Boo’ing”
The whole idea is that you surprise a neighbor (kids – don’t “boo” a grandma!) for Halloween. You “boo” them with a fun treat left on their doorstep. THEN, they “boo” 2 more neighbors. So the “boo’ing fun” spreads. These instructions are left at your house to make sure you follow the rules:
SOUNDS FUN? Maybe. But also, maybe not. Here is how I discovered Boo’ing:
Before I had ever heard about this “tradition”, we got “boo’ed” while I was taking a very relaxing bubble bath. It was an October night, around 9pm. Hubby was still at work. My kids were both in bed. I was so happy to have a quiet moment in the tub. Suddenly the dogs went bonkers – barking like crazy. Our outside lights all turned on, and both kids woke up and came screaming into the bathroom. Yelling that they saw “shadows” outside.
I freaked out. I got out of the tub, dripping water. I ran around the house in my towel making sure our doors and windows were all locked. Terrified. Images of all the Halloween horror movies were running through my head.
I got down on the floor. I debated calling 911. But first, I crawled to my front door, and I peeked outside… TERRIFIED about who might be out there.
AND, WHAT WAS THERE????
Two very cute BOO baskets on our porch. 🤣
THE LESSON:
Scary moments might actually not be so scary! Investigate before you freak out!
Plus, always lock your doors before a bubble bath!
